Staying informed in Century Village

One guide to community television, UCO updates, meeting recordings, calendars, and the Reporter.

A few good sources make village life easier.

Meeting announcements, service changes, road work, recreation notices, and community activities can appear in different places. This guide brings the main sources together so you can choose the ones that work best for you.

Start with the source. Check the date. A forwarded message or old recording may be useful background, but it may not describe today’s arrangements.

Community television: an easy way to check notices

Community channels 590, 591, and 592 are familiar information sources inside Century Village. Check current programming rather than assume a meeting or announcement appears at the same time every day.

UCO’s Community Access TV webpage provides links for channels 590 and 591 and a channel guide. These online links can offer another way to consult community information; available content and access may vary.

If a screen is blank or a recording has no sound, try the official web source and report the specific problem. Do not assume a technical failure means the event was canceled.

UCO updates: read the current community report

UCO’s Blog Posts page collects weekly community manager reports and other village updates. It also links to recordings of various meetings.

Open the report itself and check its date, especially for road closures, repairs, temporary interruptions, or project progress. Look for later or revised reports when a situation is changing.

If expected emails stop arriving, check your spam folder and subscription information. For a time-sensitive concern, consult the website or contact the responsible office instead of waiting for the next email.

Meeting recordings: catch up at your own pace

The UCO Blog Posts page links to available meeting videos, including Delegate Assembly and committee recordings. Choose the meeting by its title and date. For example, an old discussion of a proposal may not show the final decision.

Watching a recording is different from attending a live meeting, speaking, or voting. Check the organization’s participation rules separately. Some meetings or materials may not be posted publicly, and recordings can occasionally be unavailable.

Ask your association’s delegate for a short summary when you cannot access a meeting or need to understand how a decision affects your building.

Calendars and agendas: confirm before you go

Check the current calendar or meeting announcement through UCO’s website, community television, or the latest Reporter. Confirm the date, time, location, and any changed arrangements—especially around holidays.

UCO also has a dedicated Delegate Assembly page for agenda packages. Reading the package before a meeting can make the discussion easier to follow.

Recreation classes, performances, and facility information should be confirmed through WPRF and its current notices. Your individual association’s board meeting notices come from the association; a village-wide calendar does not replace them.

The UCO Reporter: your monthly community newspaper

The Reporter brings together community news, organization reports, activities, and advertisements. UCO’s official Reporter page offers downloadable issues. Digital copies allow you to enlarge text and search when the PDF supports it.

Use the current issue for upcoming events. Older issues are valuable history, but old telephone numbers, advertisements, prices, and schedules should be verified before use. An advertisement is not a guarantee of a vendor’s qualifications or service.

A simple routine for staying connected

If you do not use the internet, ask which current printed materials are available and use community television. A trusted friend or neighbor can help locate information without needing your account passwords.

Stay informed. Stay connected. Enjoy your village. Choose a manageable routine that keeps useful information close at hand.

When you need an answer rather than an announcement

For an issue affecting your building, start with your association board or manager. Direct village-service questions to the appropriate UCO office and recreation questions to WPRF. Use the guides below to find a starting point.
