Beyond our gates · A home base for adventure

By air. By sea.
So much within reach.

A visit from family. A flight to somewhere new. A Caribbean escape without a flight first. Century Village’s location makes getting away—and coming home—part of the pleasure of living here.

Another perk of calling Century Village home.

We have a major passenger airport and a cruise port in our own county, with larger gateways farther south and another passenger-airport option to the north. That creates choices for residents, seasonal travelers, and the people who come to visit us.

A nearby departure point can reduce the ground travel involved. A local cruise can also eliminate the need to buy a flight to reach the ship. Actual savings depend on your fare, transport, parking, and plans.

Family connections. Fresh horizons.

Four passenger-airport options to consider.

Approximately 8–12 driving miles

West Palm Beach’s local airport

The convenient first place to look for flights and visiting-family arrivals. Formerly Palm Beach International (PBI), it is now President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT). Search by West Palm Beach or verify the code shown by your airline. Domestic and selected international services vary by season.

Official airport guide →

Approximately 50–60 driving miles

Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International (FLL)

A useful southern alternative with a broad selection of domestic and international services. Compare flight schedules as well as fares; a convenient nonstop may justify the longer drive. It is also close to Port Everglades for visitors combining a flight and cruise.

Explore FLL →

Approximately 75–85 driving miles

Miami International (MIA)

A major international gateway with extensive airline connections. Consider it for an overseas itinerary or a route unavailable closer to home. Allow for South Florida traffic and the time needed to reach the correct terminal.

Explore MIA →

Approximately 75–85 driving miles north

Vero Beach Airport (VRB)

A smaller passenger-airport alternative to the north. Its official airline guide lists scheduled services, including Northeast connections. The route selection is narrower than at the large airports; verify your exact dates and whether a flight is nonstop.

See current airline information →

Airport-name update: the local airport’s official name-change FAQ reports the new name and booking code. Older brochures and some familiar references may still say Palm Beach International or PBI.

What about smaller local airports?

North Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County Park in Lantana, Palm Beach County Glades in Pahokee, and Boca Raton serve general aviation. They are relevant to private aircraft, flight training, and charter arrangements where offered, rather than the same kind of scheduled-airline choice as the four gateways above.

Your vacation can start close to home

Three gateways to a sea escape.

One of our location’s great pleasures is the possibility of beginning a cruise without first flying to another state. Choose a short getaway or explore the wider selections at the major southern ports.

Approximately 10–15 driving miles

Port of Palm Beach · Riviera Beach

The closest cruise departure point. Margaritaville at Sea Paradise sails from here, with short itineraries depending on the date. The port also advertises seasonal SeaDream yacht sailings; confirm the embarkation port and exact itinerary before booking.

Explore the local cruise port →

Approximately 50–60 driving miles

Port Everglades · Fort Lauderdale

A major cruise port with choices across cruise lines, destinations, and trip lengths. Use its cruise finder to explore departures, then check the line’s own details. The port has multiple terminals: navigate to your ship’s terminal, not just a general port address.

Explore Port Everglades →

Approximately 80–90 driving miles

PortMiami · Miami

A major cruise gateway offering Caribbean and other itineraries through numerous cruise lines. Its larger selection makes it worth including in your search, with extra attention to road traffic, terminal access, parking, and your assigned arrival time.

Ships, homeports, destinations, and seasonal departures change. A cruise line appearing in a port directory does not mean every ship or sailing departs there. Check Paradise itineraries.

Which departure point fits your trip?

Your priorityA useful starting point
Easy pickup for visiting familyCheck the local West Palm Beach airport first.
A convenient nonstop or a better flight scheduleCompare the local airport, FLL, and MIA; add VRB if its routes fit.
An overseas journeyInclude MIA in your comparison, alongside connecting options elsewhere.
A short cruise close to homeStart with Port of Palm Beach and verify the available dates.
More cruise-line and itinerary choicesCompare Port Everglades and PortMiami.

A low fare is only part of the price. Add baggage, parking or round-trip transfers, tolls, and any hotel needed. For cruises, include applicable taxes, fees, gratuities, and optional purchases when comparing the total.

A little preparation. A more relaxed departure.

Make the connection comfortably.

Arrange the ride both ways

Compare a family ride, taxi, rideshare, booked transfer, or parking. Confirm luggage capacity and mobility needs in advance. These gateways are not promised Century Village bus stops; check the actual transportation arrangements separately.

Build in time

Allow for congestion, weather, road work, and port security. Follow your airline’s arrival guidance and your cruise line’s check-in window. A ship’s departure time is not its final boarding deadline.

Check documents before paying

Confirm current identification, passport, visa, and cruise-entry requirements for your citizenship and itinerary with the carrier and appropriate authorities. Do not assume a short cruise requires no travel documents.

Ask for assistance early

Contact the airline or cruise line about wheelchair assistance, accessible accommodations, equipment, and other needs. Confirm arrangements directly rather than assuming they are included with a transfer.

A lovely place to leave from. A lovely place to return to.

Living in Century Village means you can enjoy recreation close to home and still have practical gateways to family visits, new cities, and sea adventures. That combination is another reason our location matters.
